These 3 Back to School Weeknight Meal Prep Tips Will Make Dinner Hit The Table in 30 Minutes.
The September Back To School Schedule Can Be Hectic! These Tips Will Help You Keep Dinners Quick and Delicious.
1. Prep Ahead and Use a List
Which meals are you planning to prepare for the week? Write out each nights meal in a calendar and prepare a shopping list that includes the ingredients that you will need. Meal Prep can be done in a few different ways depending on your schedule:
1. Leftover meal prep; make a double portion at dinner and use the extras for lunch the next day.
2. Weekly Meal Prep; set aside time on Sunday and Wednesday to prep 2-3 days of meals in bulk.
3. Have your meat delivered by Ottawa Valley Meats and consider a produce delivery company for fruits and vegetables.
2. Pre Cook Protein, chop vegetables, prepare sauces and seasonings
A successful meal prep session will leave you with:
- 2-3 types of cooked protein
- washed and chopped vegetables in containers and resealable bags
- 2-3 dressings and sauces in glass mason jars
PRO TIP: Sauces and seasonings are a great way to spice up (pun intended) your meal prep proteins. Transform a standard chicken breast multiple ways by changing the sauce or seasoning for a completely new flavour profile.
