A primal is the large section of a beef carcass from which all individual cuts are derived. Each primal offers a unique range of steaks—and when handled by an expert butcher, every ounce can be transformed into something exceptional.

At Ottawa Valley Meats, we work directly with our farmers and butchers to bring you a true primal experience. You’ll receive every steak available from the primal, plus the premium trimmings ground into a rich, high-end steak burger blend.

It takes a skilled butcher with years of experience to break down a primal to achieve the perfect balance of quality and value.
This week, we’re featuring the Shortloin Primal—home to some of the most luxurious steaks in the world.

Expertly cut from a single shortloin primal, this package includes:

Each steak is thick-cut (1.25"–1.5"), individually vacuum-sealed, and flash frozen for maximum freshness.

Shipping & Return

All our orders are hand-packed before delivery. Human error can happen, and we want to make sure we fix it as soon as possible. Within 72 hours of delivery, please notify us of any issues you may have with your order. We’ll assess the issue and decide the best course of action.

Delivery process is as follows:

  1. We will send automated delivery notification updates on the day of delivery
  2. Driver will attempt delivery. Will knock/ring/call.
  3. For customers in the Ottawa area: your order will be left at your door if there's no response For customers outside of Ottawa: Your order will not be left unattended unless you add a delivery note giving permission. 

The package will be kept at our warehouse for pickup at your convenience during business hours. We can offer a second delivery for a $25 fee.
